Summary

V cone gas flowmeter, also called internal cone flowmeter, V cone and cone flowmeter, is a new differential pressure flowmeter with patented technology. It is the same as other types of differential pressure flowmeters. It is based on the principle of energy conservation in sealed pipes. The unique design of V cone flowmeter expands the range of flow measurement and avoids some limitations of traditional differential pressure flowmeters. Better performance. The V cone flowmeter is suspended with a conical interceptor in the center of the pipeline. The conical parts obstruct the flow of the medium and reshape the velocity curve. The measuring medium includes water, steam, air, natural gas, nitrogen, coke oven gas and organic gas. Medium conditions can be from deep hypothermia to supercritical state.The working temperature is 450 degrees high and the maximum pressure is 25Mpa. The high Reynolds number can be measured to be 5*106, and the low Reynolds number is 8*103 or even lower. The full scale differential pressure signal is generated from * to less than 100 PPA to several tens of kPa.


Working principle

V cone gas flowmeter is a differential pressure flow meter. So far, the flow meter designed by differential pressure principle has been used for more than 100 years.The principle of differential pressure is based on the principle of energy conversion in sealed pipes, that is to say, for stable fluid, the flow rate is proportional to the square root of the medium velocity in the pipeline. When the medium approaches the cone, its pressure is P1. When the medium passes through the cone cut-off zone, the speed increases, the pressure decreases to P2, and P1 and P2 are introduced to the differential pressure transmitter through the pressure cone of the cone flowmeter. When the flow rate changes, the differential pressure between the two pressure outlets of the cone flowmeter will increase or shrink.


The V cone flowmeter has the same formula as the other differential pressure flowmeters when carrying out the flow calculation. However, the unique design of its closure elements forces the medium in the pipe center to flow around the cone, which has many advantages compared with other differential pressure flowmeters.We can understand the performance of the cone flowmeter with the help of the ideal state velocity curve distribution diagram. The fluid in the pipeline is not interfered or obstruct, that is, the ideal flow pattern as we call it. Its velocity distribution is uniform, the velocity near the wall is almost zero, the velocity of the pipe center is large, and the velocity near the pipe wall is almost zero, which is caused by the friction force of the pipe wall to the medium. Because the cone is suspended in the center of the pipeline, it contacts directly with the high speed region of the fluid, forcing the fluid in the high speed zone to be mixed with the fluid in the low velocity zone near the pipe wall, thus homogenizing the flow velocity. Therefore, even though the flow rate is very low, the cone flowmeter can make the fluid flow continuously with the high velocity of the center of the pipe to produce the correct differential pressure.


In reality, the velocity is difficult to distribute evenly. Any change in the pipeline may affect the fluid, such as bay head, valve, reducing diameter, expanding diameter, pump, three links, etc. the cone flowmeter remodels the velocity distribution curve of the upstream by using the cone, and even in extremely bad condition, it can still ensure the measurement accuracy.




Product characteristics

Range width: 10:1 in normal condition, and increase if necessary.


The straight pipe section has low requirements: the 0~3D straight pipe section and the 0~1D straight pipe section of the flowmeter can ensure the measuring accuracy. Experiments show that the V cone flowmeter can approach a single bend pipe or a double curved pipe with different planes and has little effect on accuracy.


Long term stability is good: the shape design of the cone ensures that the fluid is a gradual process when flowing through the cone. There is no mutation. The beta value can remain unchanged for a long time. The instrument can be used for a long time without calibration.


Signal stability: all differential pressure meters will have "signal fluctuation", that is, even if the fluid is very stable, the signal generated by a throttle element will fluctuate. For orifice plates, the vortices formed after throttling parts are longer. These long vortices will generate high amplitude and low frequency fluctuation signals, which will disturb the reading of differential pressure meters. The conical flowmeter will form small vortices downstream of it, resulting in low amplitude and high frequency fluctuation signals.


The pressure loss is small: because there is no prominent baffle, the pressure loss of the cone flowmeter is 3/4 lower than the orifice plate.


No stagnation dead zone: the conical "purge" design does not exist dead zone, so no fluid debris, sticky slag or impurities will be accumulated on the cone.


Mixers function: the vortex generated by the downstream of the V cone flowmeter is a short vortex, which can mix the media in the downstream. Therefore, the V cone flowmeter is used as a flowmeter at the same time, and it can also be used as static mixer in many fields. It can quickly and adequately mix the medium.
